In a nod to seniors studying Darwin, blatant self-celebration of my own birthday, and as a sort of happy 21st to my fellow Aries, here’s a short op-ed attributing the advancement of human culture to beer. It somehow comes off to me as a quasi-legitimate theory (despite the very tentative language). But what do you think? Do we owe our modern civilization to beer?
